UK dressage rider, trainer and judge Isobel Wessels is hugely respected for her skill and expertise in all three areas. An international 5* judge, Isobel’s work takes her all over the world officiating at a myriad of major shows and championships. As a trainer she has coached numerous combinations to Grand Prix and recently she worked with the New Zealand Eventing Team as a dressage coach while the team prepared for the Rio Olympics.
Aboard current stable star Chagall, Isobel has won 10 national titles in the United Kingdom and continues to impress at Grand Prix level. Her status as a judge means she cannot compete at Grand Prix level internationally, though she names Carl Hester as a big influence on her riding style. She is a fantastic advertisement for dressage judges that also ride, and vice versa.
Isobel will not only be taking clinics throughout Equidays but also judging during the Wade Equine Coaches Festival of Dressage on the Thursday afternoon and evening. With an exceptional eye for detail and a wealth of first-hand knowledge of what the judge is looking for, Isobel will be an incredible asset to the international clinician line-up in 2017.
