There are a number of special jumping events at Equidays. A full competition schedule will be available shortly.
Wades Equine Coaches Horse Grand Prix
The Horse Grand Prix sees the country’s top show jumpers go head to head over a 1.40-1.45m course. With big jumps and the intense atmosphere of the Equidays indoor arena, this class is always an impressive show of skill and training and truly showcases the thrilling sport of show jumping.
The Horse Grand Prix will take place during the Friday night show in the indoor arena.
Heritage Equine Pony Grand Prix
Similar to the Horse Grand Prix, the Pony Grand Prix attracts the elite up-and-coming show jumpers on their smaller mounts. With a maximum rider age of 17 and a maximum pony height of 148cm these pint-sized combinations will jump around a course of jumps in the outdoor competition arena.
A jumping competition with a twist! Longer than most show jumping courses, a derby includes natural obstacles like a bank, ditch and open water as well as regular show jumps over varying terrain. Jumping cleanly without knocking poles or refusing fences is crucial, while speed is also a factor. In 2017 a new and improved derby course features with purpose built obstacles.
